The new framework programme launched in 2014, Horizon 2020, aims at fostering research & technological development at European level, to build a knowledge economy and society. This implies principles of excellence and strong interactions between R&D and innovation.

Proposal writing

In the proposal phase we provide support to the project sponsor, coordinator or consortium:

Project & consortium strategy

  • Identification of relevant financing sources and open opportunities
  • Advice in the definition of the proposal (content, objectives, partnerships)
  • Partner search, building of national or international consortium
  • Early review of the proposal for a go / no go

Proposal writing

  • Coordination of proposal
  • Definition of project management structure and consortium
  • Qualification and quantification of the project’s expectations and impact
  • Definition of dissemination and exploitation principles

Legal, administrative & financial management

  • Full management of administrative matters
  • Creation and maintenance of budgets
  • Letters of Intent and draft Consortium Agreement
  • Addressing ethical issues when required

Finalisation and submission

  • Final review of the proposal and possible adaptations
  • Proposal submission to the financing agency

Negotiation, in case successful

  • Assistance in technical, contractual and budgetary negotiations with the financing agency
  • Finalising the work plan and budget
  • Closing all administrative issues
  • Collecting partners commitments and proceeding with contract signatures

Project management

LGI usually contributes as project management office to support a scientific leader and in some cases as a project coordinator.

Project & consortium management

  • Deployment of our customised online IT tools: document workflow, project dashboard, collaborative workspace, secure web platform for consortium communication
  • Document, knowledge and IPR management
  • Quality & risk management
  • Daily animation of the consortium
  • Monitoring of planning, deliverables and milestones, achievement of objectives
  • Organisation and post-processing of meetings
  • Reporting to the financing agency

Legal, administrative, financial management

  • Maintenance of contractual documents
  • Budget monitoring and updates, consolidation of regular financial reports
  • Advice on legal, administrative, financial matters
  • Complex legal and/or financial engineering when required

Public communication & exploitation

  • Drafting and execution of communication strategy & action plan
  • Design, development and maintenance of public website
  • Monitoring of relevant international events
  • Creation of communication tools as required (brochures, newsletters, journals…)
  • Knowledge exploitation, IP strategy and related action plans

Project-specific activities

In addition, LGI regularly contributes to collaborative research and innovation projects with our competences in innovation strategy  (typically market studies, business modelling, etc.) and in the development of ICT solutions.
